Night At The Infirmary Class Progression Guide

Plan Night At The Infirmary class progression with Shard checkpoints, purchase tests, upgrade cautions, and routes for solo or squad play.

Class progression is a currency decision layered on top of shift execution. A larger Shard balance creates options, but clean patient boundaries and reliable anomaly checks still drive completion. Use reported prices as savings checkpoints, verify every purchase in the live menu, and invest around a repeated weakness rather than a generic tier list.

Evidence limit: current sources report unlock prices and describe class levels, but they do not provide a stable creator-owned upgrade table. This guide does not invent level caps, percentages, upgrade costs, or Shards earned per night.

Stage 1: learn before spending

Run the beginner protocol long enough to identify where time or sanity is lost. Record whether failures come from navigation, unfinished treatment, unclear evidence, or survival pressure. Route mistakes should be fixed directly; a class purchase is a poor substitute for an unresolved objective.

At the reported 250-Shard checkpoint, Rookie is the lowest documented unlock. That can make it a reasonable system test, but only if its current description helps. A free or default setup may be better while learning if the live effect is unclear.

Stage 2: choose a practical checkpoint

Current community prices suggest useful checkpoints rather than a forced order:

  • 250–750 Shards: compare Rookie, Ward Assistant, and Receptionist.
  • 1,000–1,500 Shards: compare Surgeon and Survivor.
  • 2,500–3,000 Shards: verify Chief Doctor and Therapist in the current roster.
  • 4,000–6,000 Shards: evaluate Exorcist and Plague Doctor only against a specific need.

Do not buy every cheaper option simply because it appears first. If you need resilience, saving past a patient-flow role may be more efficient. If you play with a fixed squad, coordinate purchases so two players do not unknowingly solve the same narrow problem.

Stage 3: verify the purchase

Before clicking buy, read the exact name, effect, currency, and price. Confirm whether the panel describes an unlock or an upgrade. Check that your current class can be changed before the shift and whether the new one must be equipped manually.

After spending, reopen the panel. Verify ownership, equip state, and remaining balance. During the next run, compare a repeatable task rather than judging from one dramatic event. A faster-feeling shift may come from better familiarity rather than the class.

Use codes without assuming income

Current code trackers report update codes that may grant Shards, but their live status is not independently verified here. Try the candidates on the Codes page and count only a visible balance increase. Do not build a progression plan around an unredeemed reward.

This guide also avoids publishing Shards-per-night claims. Completion rewards, bonuses, and update events can change. Use your own before-and-after balance to estimate how many runs remain to the next checkpoint.

Solo progression route

Solo players benefit from broad, frequent value. First stabilize Night 1 and identify the resource that ends attempts. Consider a lower or middle-cost role that helps across many patients. Save for a specialist only when its live effect directly addresses later-night pressure you already encounter.

Do not interpret “solo” as “rush.” A class that helps movement or treatment still depends on completing the form/computer decision and cleanup. Review the Nights hub when a new night changes the protocol.

Squad progression route

A squad can divide roles around task reading, treatment, sanity support, and anomaly response. Discuss what each player owns before spending. One broad support purchase may help more than four individual prestige purchases, but only the live class text can show who receives an effect.

Keep one person responsible for the objective state. Class specialization should reduce duplicated movement, not create simultaneous interaction with the patient. If a role has a radius or teammate condition, test it together in a low-pressure shift.

Treat class levels as unverified

Community guides mention levels and stronger effects, but the checked evidence does not safely establish the exact system. If the current panel exposes levels, note the cap, cost, and description from that server. Do not assume an old screenshot’s level requirement still applies.

Upgrade only after the base class proves useful. Compare the next upgrade cost with the unlock cost of a different role. A small improvement to a frequent action may be worthwhile; a high-cost improvement to an occasional event may not be.

Recovery after a bad purchase

Do not chase the loss by spending Robux. Return to the class list, equip the most useful owned option, and rebuild the balance through normal play or verified rewards. If an update changes the class, document the current text and re-evaluate it rather than assuming the purchase is permanently wasted.

If a Robux purchase charged without granting the item, preserve transaction evidence and use Roblox support. Never share credentials or pay an external seller.

Progression FAQ

What should I buy first?

The lowest-cost class whose live effect fixes a repeated problem. There is no verified universal first purchase.

Should I save directly for Plague Doctor?

Only if its current effect is clearly useful to your play and the long saving route does not prevent a more practical earlier unlock.

How fast can I earn 6,000 Shards?

No stable earnings rate is claimed. Track your own balance changes because rewards can vary by update and activity.

Are class upgrades worth it?

The evidence is insufficient for a general answer. Compare the live upgrade text and price with another class unlock.

Do classes replace good diagnostics?

No. Continue using multiple evidence categories and the current response prompt.
